From Hattersley FC to Man United

Son of former Cameroon left-back Joseph Elanga, Anthony Elanga was born in Sweden in April 2002, moving to England with his mum Daniella and sisters Sandra and Chanelle in 2013.
An 11 year old Anthony whilst attending (Hyde High) School was looking for a local football team to play for and stumbled across Hattersley FC one evening. Having attended Active Ken Ward centre home of Hattersley FC he was looking for Hyde United but came across Ian Forder and Hattersley FC Under 13s. Anthony joined in with Ians session and took a liking to the club, Making friends immediately with a fellow player Jake.

Ian Forder advised, After 10 minutes of his first session I could see the quality that Anthony possessed and I found myself giving the signing on forms to Daniella. He is such a gifted well mannered young man that I had the pleasure to coach.

Jakes parents took Anthony to and from training sessions and games and helped to guide him on his route to the Premier League. In Anthonys first season with Hattersley he played 14 games scoring 17 goals and assisting 27, the team went from being mid table to being runners up and being promoted. He also won player of the year. Ian Forder, Anthonys Coach said that Anthony was such and unselfish player he would always be looking for the pass or assisting someone else rather than scoring.

Hattersley FC has always been close to Anthonys heart and being part of the Hattersley family, #1family has never been more true. Whilst playing he had trials at both Man United and Man City and was snapped up by the reds. Having been a big United fan growing up it was a dream come true for Anthony.

At the age 15 and whilst playing in a tournament for Man United in Spain and loosing in the final but being picked as player of the tournament Anthony was offered a 4 year contract at Man United. In April 2021 at the age of 19 Anthony has been given a 4 year contract with the Red Devils and made his first team debut against Leicester City at Old Trafford on 11th May 2021.

We know Anthony won't mind us sharing this story and it shows what he thinks of his and our club.
A few weeks ago our first team had a game on the ken ward. All their efforts to make the pitch playable were in vain and the ref called it off. We managed to get on to Alder and use their pitch to be able to play the game. When Anthony found out we had an extra charge to pay for using the pitch at Alder he insisted on paying it.

Everybody involved within the club wishes Anthony all the best with his career at Old Trafford and it shows that with a lot of hard work and dedication you can make it to the very top.

Anthony is still and will always be part of the Hattersley FC family. #1family
